Thought for Today
It was one of those March days
when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold:
when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.
I spent some time outside today; the weather was pleasant, spring like. I have not been spending as much time outside as I would like, not since the shoulder injury. I returned from my appointment with the doctor at about noon. I let Pearl and Opie out of their pen and we romped and played a bit. I turned my back and they vanished, as they do so well. Probably picked up the scent of a deer and had to try to go catch him.
As I strolled along the creek, I marveled at the vibrant colors of the stones in the creek bed. Recently cleansed by heavy rains it was like a new awakening. Silt had accumulated and with last years drought the creek bed had become a dirty muddy mess.
Over time we become accustomed to our environment, we may not notice subtle changes. Just as I had forgotten the beauty beneath the water, until Mother Nature through her gush of tears swept away the silt.
