Quote of the Day

“They who dream by day
are cognizant of many things
which escape those
who dream only by night.”

~Edgar Allan Poe

Thought of the Day
I have been called many things, a dreamer and a thinker are two things I do not mind being called. I have been told that I think too much, thus I dwell on things that do not really matter. While this may be true I refuse to correct what some consider a malady or a handicap. In my mind I can go where I want and create the world I want. Some call it thinking too much, I call it using my imagination.

In my world, if I choose, the sun is blue, the sky is orange, and the rippling waters are purple. What does it matter as long as my imagination allows me to escape the real world and find happiness, joy, and contentment in my fantasy world, if only for a brief instant.

The mind, and the imagination are very powerful and useful tools the creator have given us to escape and to deal with realities of this world. We are all fighting our own battles, both inside us, and outside us. The battles themselves are not really that important. What is important is how we deal with these battles.

When I find myself in difficult, uncomfortable, or even painful situations I let my mind take me to places of comfort and joy. If, for example I am stuck in traffic during rush hour, in my mind what I see is myself sitting below a beautiful cascading waterfall, or maybe experiencing a spectacular mountain sunrise. That is the real beauty of imagination; the choice is mine.
