“Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass
under the trees on a summer’s day,
listening to the murmur of water,
or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time.”
John Lubbock (April 30 1834 – May 28 1913) Known as Sir John Lubbock, 4th Bt from 1865 until 1900, was an English banker, biologist, archaeologist and Liberal politician. Source | More
This is an awesome thought for the day. Rest is so important. People today feel that they always have to be doing something, “multi-tasking”, etc. They just don’t realize the value of rest, and, sometimes, because of pressure from others and the need that they feel to keep up with everybody else they don’t rest. They feel that they cannot “justify” rest and even believe that it is idleness. I am so glad that I read this post and that John Lubbock has given me “permission” to rest. And thank you, too, for sharing this very valuable thought.
