Thought For The Day

“I went to the woods
because I wished to live deliberately,
to front only the essential facts of life,
and see if I could not learn
what it had to teach,
and not, when I came to die,
discover that I had not lived.”

~ Henry David Thoreau

The above quote is probably the most famous by Thoreau, and one of my favorites. Every time I read it it makes me think, not only about who I am and where I’m from, but also about where I am going.

We all should take time to spend in the woods, whether it is in the wilderness, the back yard, or in a neighborhood park. Take time to shut out all outside influences, close your eyes and listen to the sounds of nature, reflect on your life and listen to the sounds of your own heart, your heart will never lie or misguide you.
