Thought for Today
“If you don’t like something change it;
if you can’t change it,
change the way you think about it.”
~ Mary Engelbreit
The written word is very powerful, it can make us strong, or it can make us weak. It can lift us up, or it can bring us down. Ultimately the choice is ours, because it is how we react to these words that makes all the difference. Having a Positive Mental Attitude is very important as well. “I believe, I can, I will, I do.”
The older I get the more I realize, that words will not harm me, if I do not allow them to. Furthermore, words can heal me if I let them. Here is an example, when you see following word how does it make you feel?
I remember many years ago as a young boy, I was feeling blue one day, my dad seeing this asked if I wanted to know how to make my self feel better, so I said “sure.” So he very loudly clapped his hands in front of him, and with a broad smile he shouted “Boy Do I Feel Good!” And you know what, It worked. After doing this several times I completely forgot what I was blue about.
Just thinking about that exercise can put a smile on my face. I can see my dads big toothy grin as he claps his hands and shouts those positive words. Not only are positive words essential to a positive attitude, so are positive thoughts. Positive thinking breeds positive results, negative thinking breeds negative results.
