Thought for the Day

not events,
have the power
to make me happy or unhappy today.”

  1. @Sandra. I am truly sorry about your present difficulty but am puzzled where you got the idea that Groucho Marx never had any adversity!! Many successful people have overcome staggering odds. For one example Groucho Marx was pulled out of school permanently at the tender age of 12 and had to join the child labor forces due to his family’s poverty at that time.

  2. Events make me unhappy every day since my husband had a stroke, then a bad fall, breaking his hip, and losing his job. He may never walk again and he is still young. Our lives are probably over. Unhappy? I’m suicidally depressed! It was easy for Groucho Marx to make this comment; he’d never had any adversity!
