“Force,
no matter how concealed,
begets resistance.”

~ Lakota Proverb

LakotaThe Lakota, natively known as the Lak?óta (pronounced [la?k?ota]), also known as Teton, and Teton Sioux. They speak the Lakota language, the westernmost of the three closely related languages that belong to the Siouan language family, occupying lands in both North and South Dakota. According to some historical sources the Lakota were at one point in their history part of a confederation of seven related Sioux tribes, the O?héthi Šakówi? or Seven Council Fires, and as such are one of the Indigenous peoples of the Great Plains of North America.
