Is It Too Late?

Quote of the Day
“The Earth can no longer be healed on a physical level.
Only a spiritual healing can change the course
of the probable futures of mankind…”

~Tom Brown Jr.~
The Quest: One Man’s Search for Peace, Insight, and Healing in an Endangered World

Thought for the Day
With $4.00 or more per gallon gas, environmental catastrophes, global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps I would think that more people would realize that it is us, humans, that are

destroying the earth. We continue to rape and pillage the earth, building massive concrete structures and asphalt highways, and now our president and one of our presidential candidates wants to create even more pollution and destruction in the form of offshore oil wells.

It concerns me that the damage already caused may, at this point be irreversible. Our greed, lust, and obscene desires continue to wreck havoc on our precious and fragile mother earth. Even as we can see the destruction we have, and continue to cause, our destruction continues to climb at an alarming rate. What will it take before we wake up and realize that it is time for change.

  1. Thanks for stopping by Jason,
What needs to happen is that we as a society need to realize that we must change. We cannot wait for the politicians and corporations to change, they are too busy counting their money. However, if they see that their voters and buyers are changing and demanding that they too must change, I think eventually they will. I just hope by then it is not too late.

  2. It is great to stumble upon somone who has similar views to my own. I think you are right on the money.

What does it take to turn things around? I don’t know but I think it is a combination of hard work (on many levels), perserverance and developing communities that care.

In some ways we as a world society are beginning to finally wake up and at least try to change things for the better – they now have a new Cable TV station dedicated solely to “green living” – I think it is called Grean Planet.

I am glad you are blogging about this topic!
